About Turners Falls

Part of the Town of Montague, MA, the Village of Turners Falls is an extraordinary historic mill town that is blossoming from its industrial roots to become a hub of artistic inspiration, recreational adventure and natural beauty. Cabot Woods - Take a walk and enjoy a woodland walk next to the river. Parking, open dawn to dusk,11th Street toMigratory Way, Turners Falls

Barton Cove - Walk the nature trail on the peninsula and view Bald Eagles and their nest, participate in a quest, geocaching adventure, or dinosaur track quarry viewing.  Route 2, Gill

Montague Plains - spanning 2,200 acres this is the largest and least fragmented and developed remaining glacial sandplain in the watershed featuring inland pitch pine/scrub oak plant community with at least 10 rare plant and invertebrate species. A wetland within the sandplain is habitat for the endangered northeastern bulrush and forest habitat for migrant landbirds.
